Fast, Fast, Slow: Call out for performers!

Posted: 28th July 2023

Call out for performers!

Would you like to be part of a fun creative project and gain experience performing?

Participants must be 18+

Common Wealth and the British Textile Biennial are making a show about fast fashion. We are looking for people from all walks of life to be part of our alternative catwalk. You do not need to be a model. We are looking for people who are interested in live performance and being part of a hands-on creative process. You will be wearing your own clothes for the show and will be supported through rehearsals and workshops with professionals.

We would love to meet people of all ages, body types and genders – this show goes beyond the shiny surface of the fashion industry and explores how buying and wearing clothes can be political and emotional. Fashion can be how we express ourselves but the industry is complex, global and unjust. The show will be interactive and incorporate voices from East Lancashire and Ghana with striking original video and sound.

Come and be part of this exciting process and perform in both Blackburn and Bradford this Autumn.

Fee: £10 per hour
Location: rehearsals and first performances at The Exchange in Blackburn. Second performances in Bradford (Accommodation provided)
