#end_of_empire is an interactive, site specific large scale installation of knitted photographs with incorporated touch sensors and an AI generated musical score.
For this performance, four community members have volunteered to engage with the installation’s sounds, collected among the rich and diverse soundscapes found in and around Nelson, alongside AI programmer and musician Nicola Privato.
Nicola Privato is a composer, musician, and artist specialising in post-digital lutherie, in his practice Nicola, enjoys challenging the conventional distinctions between fields. In this uncharted territory where the intersection of the arts, technology and human connection are explored, instruments take on the role of scores and installations evolve into compositions.
