Lancashire Textile Gallery: Artists Talk

Thursday 16th November, 9-10am

Modern Lancashire was built on a strong heritage of textile manufacturing and global trade, shaping the lives of people and communities both at home and abroad. From machinery, tools, patterns and sample books to clothing, interiors, decorative and ceremonial textiles, Lancashire holds a vast and rich archive of world textiles. The Lancashire Textile Gallery digitally brings together objects and collections held by museums, archives and manufacturers from across the county.

Join us online for an informal conversation about how the resource can be used as an inspiration and reference for new artwork. You’ll hear from previously commissioned artists about how they have used the collections as a starting point for new work and from British Textile Biennial Director Jenny Rutter about how you can present your work through the site’s exhibition space and potentially work with us on Arts Council project grants for new work.

This is an online discussion, a Zoom link will be sent to participants the day before the event.
