Eternal Seas

Aligned with textile company Bionic Yarn’s repurposing of waste from coastal communities and marine ecosystems to create high performance textiles, artist Ivan Forde uses this material to depict new poetic visions of fictional and real bodies of water across the world. Eternal Seas considered connections between historic sites of manufacturing, synthetic textile innovation and trade in New York City, Northern England and beyond. Following Forde and Bionic’s first collaboration presented at the New York Cotton Exchange in 2023, this installation comprised three works from Forde’s ongoing series of seascapes.
