Pioneers of the Material World - Panel Discussion & Private View

Conversations in Creativity

A panel discussion followed by a private view of the exhibition, Pioneers of the Material World.

The exhibition explored how high-performance outdoor clothing has shaped — and been shaped by — the people of Lancashire. It traced Burnley’s role in creating fabrics that protected explorers, soldiers, scientists and mountaineers in some of the world’s harshest environments and follows their transformation into fashion statements.

Contributors Max Leonard, Dr Laura N Young MBE, Dr Jonathan Westaway, Professor Andrew Groves, Sarah Haythornthwaite and Henry Iddon discussed the evolution of the exhibition with BTB Artistic Director, Laurie Peake.

This panel was followed by a drinks reception and private view.
