The Darwen Library and Theatre in Darwen are housed in the same Victorian building, which originally opened as a library in 1884. This library was established to provide access to knowledge and resources, supporting the educational needs of those employed in the cotton industry.
The theatre receives both local and touring performance companies, with a mix of classic plays, contemporary dramas, and musicals. The space has a flexible stage setup, typically designed as a proscenium arch and has an audience capacity of 150.
