OneTwoThree

OneTwoThree is a dynamic, artist-led contemporary art space housed in the historic Empire Buildings at 123 St James’s Street in Burnley. Opened in 2025 by Creative Spaces Burnley CIC, in collaboration with Burnley Borough Council and Historic England, the gallery was created to reimagine a disused 1930s building as a hub for creativity, community, and cultural regeneration.

Designed as both a working studio space and a public-facing gallery, OneTwoThree supports local and regional artists through exhibitions, residencies, workshops, and creative commissions. Its evolving programme engages diverse audiences with themes ranging from heritage and identity to politics and place, often shaped through collaboration with local partners like Mid Pennine Arts and the British Textile Biennial.

More than just a gallery, OneTwoThree is a civic space for experimentation, dialogue, and discovery—part of a growing movement to place art at the centre of Burnley’s future.
